Mission
The Mission of the WCCF is to provide and sustain a community center for all citizens in the town of Walnut, Iowa and the surrounding area.
Vision
The vision of the WCCF is to turn the closing of our school into a positive for the community. Our facility is unique in the area - two large gymnasiums and plenty of space for events of all sizes, a well-equipped fitness center, and office spaces for businesses to rent on a permanent basis.
Objectives of the WCCF:
1. Sustain Membership in the WCCF
2. Promote the utilization of the WCC
3. Organize and hold fundraising events
4. Make improvements to the facility
5. Secure donations and grants
6. Collaborate with city officials
7. Recruit volunteers
8. Operate the annual Father's Day Antique Show
Background
The Walnut Community Center was established in 2016 and consists of the former school buildings of the former Walnut Community School District. All real property and physical plant is owned by the City of Walnut, Iowa. The Walnut Community Center Foundation is a separate and distinct legal entity as an Iowa nonprofit corporation, chapter 504 and a federal tax exempt organization IRC 501(c)(3).
